Water Bodies Identification and Measurement Field Tools.
This is a task of finding if there is a water source nearby the ground level and its distribution of the water. This exercise is important are in many countries there are laws and regulation protecting the water bodies. Some areas may appear as dry land although there is water reserve below them which becomes visible during raining seasons. Making it very crucial for real estate investors to have a wetland delineation test conducted to avoid buying into water bodies which will be a loss to their investment.
Some of the wetland delineation field equipment are.
Their maps which have been developed showing area that in the past have water bodies. This will be important is knowing the exact areas to start the field study.
Finding Ways To Keep Up With Products
The researcher also need to acquire GPS tools. There assist in getting to know the direction in the area.
Shoes designed for digging. The personnel performing the wetland determination exercise will need to wear protective mud boots. The boots keep the feet safe.
What Research About Soils Can Teach You
Spades and digging tools are also necessary. The process will require digging of several pits in the area to study the underground soil.
Cameras with capability of taking pictures in water. Some underground areas may not be accessible by the researcher that observation will per taken by use of an underground camera. The area has water hence the need for a camera with ability to take shots in the water. It is also essential for the camera batteries to be long lasting. The researchers may also need an extra field camera. The only requirement of this camera is able to take clear and precise pictures.
Pictures for different types of soils. Soil experts have developed a chart showing the different color characteristics of soils in different area thus helping the researcher match the area soil with notes on the chart. The chart has given the soil color of a water body, therefore the task of the researchers is to dig the soil and see if it matches.
Tape measures. The next step after identifying the area as a wetland is measuring its size. It entails taking lengths and widths and trying to approximate the total area occupied by the water body. For this exercise, the researcher will require measurement tools. The measurement purpose is to establish boundaries of the water body.
Notes taking is also an important exercise of any research. Hence the person going on field study should carry the necessary writing materials. This will be used to record the findings of their exercise.
The determination of whether an area has a nearby water reserve should be conducted in regular year interval of maybe ten years apart. Changes in climate condition have shrink some water bodies while expanding others.
